Happy Internet Week!

Last night VTG Wonderland attended the opening of NY’s Internet Week, a “festival celebrating NYC’s thriving Internet industry & community.” We don’t consider ourselves internet experts by any means, but we certainly do celebrate it on a daily basis. Vintage Chanel spotting in Jason Evans’ ‘Strictly’ shoot (1991)

While flipping through “Fashion” by Christopher Breward, we happened upon the street style photo shoot creation titled, “Strictly,” shot by Jason Evans and styled by Simon Foxton in 1991.  Breward explains, “The shoot underlines the impossibility of a coherent sartorial or social indentity…”

The photos are very relevant to today’s fashion; they are hyper-modern. Doesn’t it feel a bit like Solange’s “Losing You” video? We were also very exited to see that the stylist, Simon Foxton, plugged two Chanel Pieces. See if you can spot them! Answers will be at the bottom of the post.

On Repeat: IS TROPICAL ‘Dancing Anymore’ (Two Door Cinema Club Remix)

IS TROPICAL are a UK trio on the French Kitsune Maison Records taste-making label. Here their track “Dancing Anymore” gets an upbeat, Balearic house remix by the Irish indie band Two Door Cinema Club. It’s an unlikely remix but perfection.

And… on repeat.

White Trash Nymph Style: our crush on Die Antwoord’s Yolandi Vi$$er.

Here at Wonderland we are keen on finding inspiration in people who don’t give a f*ck.  That’s why we are highlighting Yolandi Vi$$er of the South African group, Die Antwoord. Vi$$er’s style, or lack thereof, is perfection—so bad it’s good.

Her style is perfect color inspiration. A lof of Wonderland accessories fluttering about at the moment are bright blues and pinks. Vi$$er would be proud.

We must be honest, though: Die is a duo.  You couldn’t have the nymphe without the redneck hottie, Ninja. The fearless pair is so hot they are annoying.

A mullet, bleached eye brows and oversize men’s sweatshirts look good—even rats become a charming accessory.
